This research aims to improve literacy for deaf people by developing a practical writing system for sign languages. Because most sign languages lack a standard written form, deaf learners often struggle with written English. The project creates readable sign-language texts and tests whether they can support literacy in deaf communities worldwide.

Using AI-generated stories tailored to individual passions, the study examines effects on engagement and story retelling, suggesting that personalized, strength-based educational tools may improve reading experiences and accessibility for neurodivergent learners.
This study examines how children process the speech envelope, a key acoustic feature of language. Brain data from ages 4–18 reveal a developmental shift from left- to right-hemisphere processing. This newly identified trajectory may help detect language impairments and improve early interventions in speech and language development.
This research examines parents’ experiences of early speech and language assessments. It highlights emotional stress, inequities in access, and lack of diverse representation in existing research. By incorporating diverse parental perspectives, the study aims to inform resources, clinical practice, and policy to improve engagement and outcomes in speech therapy.
