This research develops accessible concussion assessments for athletes with visual impairments. Working with 17 goalball and blind soccer athletes, researchers adapted vision and balance tests using high-contrast objects, tactile surfaces and modified instructions. Results demonstrate improved assessment accessibility, supporting more inclusive concussion diagnosis, clinical practice and equitable healthcare.

This research investigates links between obstructive sleep apnoea, muscle weakness, impaired balance and falls in older adults. Analysis of nearly 25,000 participants identified associations with poorer physical function. A subsequent study involving 140 patients examines whether continuous positive airway pressure therapy improves strength, balance and fall risk.
