This study tested whether lecturer enthusiasm improves attention, engagement, memory, and motivation in asynchronous online lectures. Enthusiastic delivery significantly increased student engagement and motivation throughout the lecture, but did not improve immediate quiz performance. The findings suggest enthusiasm remains a valuable teaching tool online by sustaining attention and encouraging continued participation.
