Cell therapies may repair damaged eye tissues but doctors cannot easily track transplanted cells. This research labels stem cells with gold nanoparticles that strongly reflect imaging light. Using optical imaging, clinicians can visualize transplanted cells inside the eye, improving monitoring, safety, and effectiveness of regenerative treatments for vision loss.
