This research develops bioinspired surgical adhesives based on freshwater mussel proteins that bond effectively in wet environments. By analyzing nanoscale fibrous structures using electron microscopy, it aims to overcome limitations of current adhesives. The goal is to replace sutures with stronger, safer, and more efficient materials for improved surgical outcomes.
